Yuriy Ivanko is a founder and CEO of Risk Institute, an actuarial services leader that delivers technology-enabled services and solutions to clients. He has general management oversight for the company, including solution development, service delivery, and overall satisfaction for clients across industry segments. 

Mr. Ivanko has over 10 years of experience in outsourcing, consulting and business development. Prior to his current role, he held the position of chief actuary and member of Board in various Insurance companies. He was responsible for pricing and product management, insurance reserving, financial statements, profitability, budgeting and actuarial reporting.

Mr. Ivanko has been a responsible actuary for calculation regarding the compulsory Third Party Liability tariff structure in Ukraine since 2004. This tariff structure maintains a balance between insurance companies and more than 6 million annual policyholders.

Mr. Ivanko is a chief actuary for the Ukrainian Nuclear Insurance Pool. He supports Ukrainian nuclear risks estimation with more than 150 million euro liabilities that reinsures in 16 countries according to Vienna Convention on Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage.

Mr. Ivanko is in charge of actuarial modeling for mandatory health insurance in cooperation with Ukrainian insurance association (LIOU) and Ukrainian Parliament Committee of social policy, employment and pension. He took part in Ukrainian health care system reformation as a Governmental Council member.

Mr. Ivanko is a president of Ukrainian Actuaries Society since 2005. It takes 4 years of active work in order to create actuarial educational and certification system. Thanks to World Bank and European Commission support, British and German educational experience ware successfully implemented in Ukraine. He was a member at Council of NFP, a Ukrainian financial regulator, where he initiated accepting of actuarial guideline for reserving and stress-tasting.

Mr. Ivanko holds a Master’s degree in Statistic and a Master’s degree in Actuarial and Financial Mathematics from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. He has completed TASIS project EU program in actuarial education from British Institute of Actuaries members.
